Honey Tasting
Adult:
Oh, Honey! Honey Tasting - January 30
This guided honey tasting is more than a sampling: it’s a deep dive into the world of bees, nectar, varietal honeys and nature’s most delicious science project. Arguably the most regional and seasonal food on earth from citrus groves to wildflowers to late season gold, each honey varietal tells the story of its time and place. A flavor wheel and sensory vocabulary chart helps guests explore and track tastes and textures in a group setting. Ages 16 & up.
Youth:
You & Me Honey Tasting: A Sensory Adventure!(not offered this session, please check back)
Did you know that it takes about 2 million flower visits to make just one pound of honey? Or that honey never spoils? Take a sweet trip around the world—without leaving South Dakota—and taste honeys from all over while learning what makes each one so unique! Smell, taste, and compare them all, including some made right here by bees that live just a few miles from Sioux Falls! Learn how to taste like a honey expert (yes, that’s a thing), explore a rainbow of honey colors, and hear mind-blowing bee facts along the way! Materials included as well as a honey stick to take home!
*Ages 7 & up. Registration is for adult/child. Please register in student's name.
